Crockpot Recipe

One of my favorite ways to save money and time is to cook with my crockpot. I recently discovered a great bread pudding recipe that cost me approximately $10 to make and produces around 6 - 8 servings. I made it one night for dessert and then had it the rest of the week for breakfast.

Best Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

1 c. brown sugar, divided

16-oz. loaf raisin-and-cinnamon-swirl bread

4 eggs

1 qt (4 c.) milk

2 tbsp. butter, melted

1 ½ tsp. vanilla

Caramel sauce (optional)

Directions:

1. Spray interior of slow cooker with cooking spray. Spread ¾ c. brown sugar in bottom of slow cooker. Add torn bread. (Do not stir together).

2. Breat eggs until smooth in a large mixing bowl. Beat in milk, butter, vanilla, and remaining ¼ c. brown sugar. Pour over bread.

3. Cover and cook on high 3 hours or until pudding is set and no longer soupy. Do not stir.

4. Let pudding stand 15 minutes before serving. Serve with caramel sauce if desired.
